9 Slate Puzzle Burr Gray MADE FROM LEGOs (unit 18) with info VERY BIG! This is a puzzle patterned after a self invented variation of the wooden puzzle Arjeu's CT158. I am calling it a 9 piece Slate Burr It is a 9 piece Burr (18 units long) I built this long ago. The puzzle was first constructed when the Lego gray of the time was the Light Gray. I believe the year was 1988. This puzzle is very heavy 3 pound 6 ounces or a lucky 1540 grams. It is 5 3/4 inches (14.5 cm) cubed. Very Heavy! I have labeled the puzzle pieces (slates) with numbers on one end only of the pieces, but the numbers can easily be removed as they are only held on by clear tape. New owner may want to leave the new numbers on until feeling confident of solution. An info sheet is available with instructions to match numbers on sheet and slide each piece out in order of numbers. numbers are relative to the back of each piece and when numbers are upward, assembly will complete puzzle with 'smooth side' upward. Lego notes: This puzzle consists of Black and Light Gray Lego plates and bricks. Light Gray was the only gray available back in the late 80's when this puzzle was constructed. I have checked over this and have found a few non-lego pieces which I immediately replaced, but I might have missed some. This puzzle contains at least 150 'Lego' pieces per Puzzle Piece and the whole total may top 1400! It is advisable to ensure Lego pieces are tightly squeezed together well. If pieces slightly spread pieces won't slide easily enough to disassemble or assemble. Lego pieces are quite tolerant to exact measurements. Puzzle moves smooth because of Lego precision parts. Again pieces may need to be aligned slightly at times. There are 9 Puzzle Pieces configured for this particular solution. This construction allows the puzzle to accept Legos in all 3 dimensions. This type of Lego construction is often called an Illegal Build. Beware that Legos will come apart at times if puzzle pieces aren't correctly aligned , but will snap back together. See Photos.
